I am having trouble logging into my account. (It says incorrect name/password). What should I do?

What are the requirements to exhibit my artwork on Unearth?

Unearth invites all artists to apply. You do not need any previous gallery/online experience. In fact, we are excited to offer artists their first gallery exposure. You will need to have an active PayPal account to manage your transactions.

What type of artwork do you exhibit?

Unearth accepts all two-dimensional and three-dimensional mediums. If it’s original creative work it can be sold through our site.

How do I exhibit my artwork at Unearth?

Applying for Unearth representation is a simple process. Click “Register” in the top menu bar and fill in the form, you will need to agree to the Website Terms and Conditions. You will then be provided with a ‘blank canvas’ profile page in which you can upload information about yourself, (please include your location), such as previous experience, likes, accreditations or awards. You can also upload a profile picture and then create your own gallery for which you have an unlimited upload on images. You will need to provide specific information about each piece including:

Size (where appropriate)
Weight (where appropriate)
Description
Price
Shipping Costs/Collection only

You are responsible for the accuracy of this information, including calculating the shipping cost. It is important to get this right so transactions run smoothly and customers want to buy from you again.

Does it cost money to exhibit my work for sale at Unearth?

No. Unearth covers the cost of displaying your art. It is our goal to provide artists a platform on which to build their art careers.

Is there a commission on the sale of my artwork?

It is free to exhibit your artwork at Unearth. We receive a commission on the sale of each piece of art. The commission is put into our PR campaign and promotional activities such as art fairs, print and online advertising. This is an essential part of promoting you. The commission is currently fixed at 20% until January 1st 2014.

How is my art priced?

It is your responsibility to fairly and accurately price your art. We feel that it is important for you to be as involved as possible in this process as it will benefit you in the future. If you are unsure as to the price of a particular piece, email support@unearthonline.com 

Should I include VAT in my pricing?

Whether or not you choose to include VAT is your decision. The price that you display on the website is the total price and must reflect any tax that you wish to claim. You will not be permitted to alter or this price at any point during a transaction.

How do I know when my artwork is sold? What do I do once it is sold?

Transactions are made directly between you and the buyer using PayPal. You will be notified of the sale via your account. Once your art is sold, please download and sign a Certificate of Authenticity to accompany the piece.  Please arrange shipping from a reliable courier service within 72 hours to ensure your customer receives their art in a timely manner. Once a piece is sold it will be removed automatically from the site. 

How do I manage shipping/Collections?

If your item for sale can be shipped then you must include a price to do this. We would suggest that your price is correct for a UK shipping, international shipping should be quoted on request from a buyer. You will be able to secure prices from a reliable UK courier company based on the size and weight of your item. You may wish to secure relevant insurance to protect your deliveries against loss or damage. If your item needs to be collected because of the size or weight please include this information in the item details. Including your location in your profile helps buyers to make informed decisions before agreeing to a collection. Do I always need to sign and send a Certificate of Authenticity?

Unearth promises to provide collectors with a place from which to buy original creative work. Part of our commitment to quality and service is to provide a Certificate of Authenticity with each and every piece, signed by the artist in question, to confirm its validity. The Certificate needs to be downloaded from the site and can be resized to a minimum of A5 for smaller works. Please ensure you sign, date and title every Certificate you send. In the event that you are unable to print a Certificate yourself please email support@unearthonline.com with Certificate in the title. You will need to provide us with your full address so we can post one to you.

When do I pay your fees?

At the end of every month you will automatically receive an invoice via email detailing your transactions and the total you owe. Details of the Unearth bank account will be provided and you have 7 days in which to make the payment. Our commission fee includes VAT.

How are returns handled on Unearth?

If a customer wants to return an item they will email Unearth with details of the return. We will then pass this email on to you for your consideration. If a piece has been damaged during shipping then we would urge you to reimburse your buyer and accept the damaged item back. Returns are ultimately at your discretion but we will assist you in reaching a satisfactory solution for all concerned. Unreasonable behaviour on your part may result in your account being suspended.
